Belize Yacht Registration

Belize is a small country located on the east coast of Central America. Its boundaries are shared by Honduras, Guatemala and Mexico.

If you're thinking of registering a ship in Belize, you should know that the majority of open registers don't have any restrictions on the nationality or qualifications of the owners, meaning that any citizen commercial or natural person may own a ship with the national flag of Belize.

There are various reasons why Belize is a popular place to register a boat:

Because it is located in Central America and is reachable from both North and South America, it is ideally suited for the registration of vessels intended for use in the area.

Belize's boat registration laws are favourable and offer affordable registration costs. Unlike other registries Belize offers 2 year registration, there will be a survey for initial registration and for annual endorsements. Belize qualified surveyor will be able to assist with the survey no matter the location of the boat.
